OTHER PROJECTS

I love exploring and stretching my skills through personal projects.

These can show how I think creatively and solve problems in different ways than my professional work. Each project is a window into some of my broader interests.

READING GOALS

I’m tracking what I read this year through The Storygraph – feel free to join me!

About the Project

A collaborative multimedia project comissioned by the Director of DWF17, exploring long-distance storytelling and (mis)communication.

Chloe had no idea what type of video she’d recieve in advance, and I had no idea what type of soundtrack would be attached to the video I’d created.

Chloe’s statement:
Writing the text and putting together the audio over the archival footage, I was thinking about what it means to communicate or tell stories as a human, particularly over long distances – how misunderstanding is guaranteed but something is always transferred or echoed across.

Nathania’s statement: I knew I wanted to work with found footage for this piece, instead of filming brand new content. I was thinking about questions like “How many times can we make the same mistake?” and “What comes back to us when we fill the silence?” When stitching the visuals together, I was focussed on trying to capture a mood, or think about the gaps in what isn’t said, or shown.
